2021 Burdonne Young Scholarship Recipients

GULFPORT, Miss. – The Memorial Hospital Foundation has announced the winners of the 2021 Burdonne Young Scholarship at a reception on Friday, June 18th. These scholarships are awarded annually to six dependents of Memorial Hospital employees who will be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university in the fall. The scholarships are made possible by the estate of Ms. Emma Burdonne Young and Memorial employees who donate through the Foundation Employee Campaign to the Burdonne Young Scholarship Fund. Burdonne Young was affectionately known as “Ms. Memorial” and was a nurse for Memorial for over 50 years. Since 2001, 90 individuals have been awarded $57,000 in scholarships. 

The 2021 scholarship recipients are as follows: Emily Callender, daughter of Andrea Kaufman, Radiology; Kaleb Holliman, son of Jennifer Howard, Distribution Supervisor at Stone County; Danielle McFadden, daughter of Andrea McFadden, HIM; Angelina Miller, daughter of Kenneth Miller, Engineering; Ella Mitchell, daughter of Elisha Allenbaugh, Cardiology – Dr. Michael Payment; Delaney Price, daughter of Crystal Bourdin, PCU.

Memorial Hospital Foundation was established in 1986 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a vision to develop relationships and financial resources to support the healthcare programs, projects and services of Memorial Hospital.
