Memorial Receives Donation in Memory of Baby Rose Watts

GULFPORT, Miss. —Memorial Birthplace and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) mothers received care packages, in loving memory of Rose “Rosie” Margaret Watts, from her parents Allison and Mark Watts on December 16, 2015.

The Watts held a charity drive, on November 7, 2015, to collect comfort and toiletry items for new mothers staying at the hospital while their child is in the NICU. The charity drive collected enough items for 118 mothers to receive the gifts.

“This is something we would love to do again to keep baby Rosie’s memory alive,” said Allison Watts.  Baby Rosie Watts was stillborn on Nov. 12, 2014.

“The generosity of the Watts family and their friends is much appreciated,” said Wayne Laubmeier, NICU/Pediatric Manager. “This donation will ease some of the stress on new mothers and mother’s caring for sick babies in the NICU. Baby Rosie and her family will be remembered by all the recipients of these care packages.”
