GULFPORT, Miss. – Dr. David Northington, Memorial Hospitalist, was recently named as a Guardian Angel. The Memorial Hospital Foundation set up the Guardian Angel program to give grateful patients the opportunity to make a donation to the Foundation in honor of a doctor, nurse, other staff member or volunteer who made a difference in their care or the care of a loved one at Memorial. Guardian Angel recipients will receive a lapel pin they can wear with pride.
The donor said, “Dr. Northington spent a great deal of time with my husband as he was slipping into the last stage of his life. He was a great comfort to me in explaining what had happened, and was happening. He also offered me a hug, and a shoulder to cry on. Dr. Northington exemplifies compassion in caring for his patients and their families. Memorial is blessed to have Dr. Northington.”
