Waiting for a Cure Foundation recently donated $5,000 to the Memorial Hospital Foundation and has designated the donation to support the Sea Wolves Breast Imaging Special Needs Patient Fund at Memorial Hospital.

In 2007, the Sea Wolves Breast Imaging Special Needs Patient Fund was created to provide financial assistance to patients of Memorial who receive breast diagnostic imaging services such as mammograms, breast ultrasounds and breast MRIs.

“Waiting For A Cure Foundation is pleased to present this check to Memorial
Hospital Foundation,” said Dawn Gillis, President, Waiting For A Cure Foundation. “Working to promote good breast health in women is a vital part of our mission.”

To date, this fund has assisted over 170 local residents. Each year, the Mississippi Sea Wolves host a special hockey game, “Pink in the Rink,” where proceeds from ticket sales and jersey auctions benefit this fund.

The mission of the Waiting For A Cure Foundation is to raise money to benefit the needs of breast cancer patients, survivors, and their families in Southeast Mississippi.
