GULFPORT, Miss – Run-N-Tri hosted the annual “Thumbs Up for Bill” 5k race on Saturday, November 23 in Gulfport and helped raise $6,010 for the “Thumbs Up for Bill” Oncology Fund at the Memorial Hospital Foundation. This race, now in its 3rd year, was the most successful to date.
The “Thumbs Up for Bill” 5k race is held each year in memory of Dr. William “Bill” Gasparrini, an avid runner who passed away in 2012 after a battle with cancer. Proceeds from the race benefit Memorial Hospital Foundation’s “Thumbs Up for Bill” Oncology Fund, which assists special-needs cancer patients at the hospital with medications, transportation, medical equipment, and nutritional supplements.
