Butler Snow law firm recently donated $10,000 to the Memorial Hospital Foundation and has designated the donation to support the opening of a school clinic at Long Beach High School that Memorial Hospital at Gulfport will staff.
In 1995, Memorial Hospital opened the first hospital sponsored school based health clinic in Mississippi at Gulfport High School. The success of this first endeavor has led to the development of 14 clinics on the Gulf Coast.
“Butler Snow is excited to be a part of the efforts of the Memorial Hospital at Gulfport Foundation,” said Tommy Williams, chair of the Butler Snow Foundation. “We looked at many deserving organizations. The effort to provide much-needed healthcare to these students stood out,” said Williams. “We know the equipment and supplies purchased with the grant will help them reach their end goal of providing comprehensive healthcare for these students.”
Memorial School Clinics are visited by approximately 600 children per day. School clinic services include screenings, sports physicals, injury stabilization, health education, CLIA certified lab, medication administration, immunizations, and mental health counseling. Referral services for additional healthcare services are provided, if needed.
