On Thursday, April 22, 2010, CiCi’s Pizza on Hwy 49 hosted Memorial Hospital Foundation night. Supporters of the Foundation came out and enjoyed a pizza buffet complete with salad and dessert. There were also video games and prizes for children.

2010 Pink in the Rink
On February 28, 2010, thanks to the generosity of Surge Hockey Fans, the 3rd Annual “Pink in the Rink” raise dover $31,000 for the Breast Imaging Fund at Memorial and the Favre 4 Hope Foundation. Proceeds came from ticket/tshirt sales and a jersey auction at the Hard Rock Live after the game.

Miracles for Memorial: Mowgli’s Mambo
On December 12, the Memorial Hospital Foundation held it’s first annual “Miracles for Memorial” fundraising event at the IP Casino Resort and Spa. The event grossed over $115,000. Proceeds from the event will be used to assist needs for Memorial’s pediatric oncology unit, patients with Type 1 diabetes and their families and the renovation of Memorial’s pediatric playroom.

3 Doors Down “Better Life Foundation” donates to Memorial
On December 4, at the Hard Rock Cafe, the band 3 Doors Down and the Better Life Foundation donated a “Dream Racer” to the Memorial Hospital Foundation for the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Memorial. The Dream Racer is a NASCAR replica car equipped with a Sony Playstation. The Dream Racer will be used to entertain patients while they are receiving their treatments.

On February 7, 2009 the Mississippi Sea Wolves held the 2nd Annual Pink in the Rink Hockey game. The event raised over $31,000, including a donation from the Mississippi Power Foundation. The Waiting for a Cure Foundation also donated to this cause. Proceeds from this event fund the Sea Wolves Breast Imaging Special Needs Patient Fund. This fund is used to provide financial assistance to patients in need of mammograms, breast ultrasounds or breast MRIs.

2008 Wreaths of Wonder
On December 20th, 2008, the Memorial Hospital Foundation held its First Annual “Wreaths of Wonder” event at the home of Bill and Angela Wingfield in Pass Christian. Over 100 community leaders, physicians, Lions Club members, and employees of Memorial Hospital attended the event and bid on wreaths made by “local celebrities.” Proceeds from the event will be used to benefit the Memorial Hospital Oncology Clinic. This new clinic will allow Memorial to provide outpatient medical oncology services to citizens of the Gulf Coast regardless of their ability to pay and will eliminate out-of-town referrals and the need to travel. 2008 Lions for Life Holiday Breakfast
On November 21, 2008, the Lions Clubs of Diamondhead, Gulfport, and Biloxi hosted the “Lions for Life” Breakfast at Salute Restaurant to support the establishment of the Medical Oncology Clinic at Memorial Hospital. In addition, Lions Clubs members donated their time and creativity in making Christmas items for the silent auction and door prize raffles. The event was well attended by MD-30 Council Chair Dee Tanner (Diamondhead), 30-S District Governor Dannye Long (Columbia). Proceeds from jersey auctions and ticket sales totaled over $20,000.
